Real value lies in the photographs some 744 in all. Text is interesting because it reflects the pre WWI perception of the Civil war Several maps, diagrams and other illustrations included. Occasional errors surface as, with the switched captions on page 264 and the work lacks an index.A very nice, must have part of any Civil War library collection I am not an expert on everything I sell, so some of my knowledge may be limited.
