Antique Books The Century War Book 19 Book Collection Civil War 1894

This auction is for a Civil War Book Set Titled "The Century War Books"

It is a 20 book set, but I only have 19 of the 20. Part 2 is missing & NOT INCLUDED IN THIS AUCTION.

This set is 117 years old & the paper (covers) are very brittle. The inner book paper is much more sturdy than the covers. In addition, there is expected wear, some water spots, some corners have old tape, covers are detached from most of them, however, most of the inner books are together and in-tact. there is one book # 3 where 2 pages stuck together & damaged some of the writing. I am not a book expert & honestly do not have any idea how to rate the condition of these. From a personal opinion, I would say that they are in fair, at best, condition given the age. PLEASE ASK SPECIFIC QUESTIONS so that I may help you before bidding. These are being sold as is.

They are really very interesting books. Lots of pictures, maps & history.

Sept. 1888 Century CIVIL WAR Passenger Pigeons Illust.

The Century Illustrated Monthly Magazine, Vol. XXXVI, No. 5 (September 1888). Pictorial wraps, 10 x 7 in., approx. 157 pages plus 62 pages of ads, illustrated throughout. Typical light handling wear (mainly to edges; loss to bottom of spine), and marginal tear to two leaves, otherwise clean and near fine.

An interesting issue of this important periodical, well-known for its wide range of topics, wealth of illustrations, and eminent contributors.
