This World War II dictionary from the UK had to have been a necessary item for those working especially in military intelligence. This copy has the name "1st. Lt. Sandberg, R.A." penned at the top. It comes complete with dust jacket. Likely not military issue, as there is a retail price printed on the bottom corner of the front flap. The front flap reads, "Special attention has been devoted to the technical terms in use in the three Services. But the fact that both slang and sporting terms are also included gives it a very 'true-to-life' tone, and will make it a most useful possession. The illustrations and tables at the back of the books are another strong point in its favour. From them the student can learn how to translate the ranks in the three Services, and the parts of the rifle, the pistol and the machine-gun. He can also find out with ease the German names for the parts of a horse and his harness, the parts of a motor car, a parachute, and an aeroplane. In the dictionary itself the branch of knowledge of which a word is a technical term is shown by a sign." -- The Journal of the Army Educational Corps.

CONDITION
Book is in very good condition. No writing or marks to text. Cover corners are square. Light wear and sun fading to cover edges and spine ends. Jacket is in Good condition, with edge wear/fraying and a few small tears, mostly at spine ends. Still in very good condition overall.

Flight Jacket Patch

Designated Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 334 (VMFA-334), August 1, 1967 ( F$-J Phantoms).

Departed MCAS El Toro on August 20, 1968.

Arrived at Da Nang on September 1.

Initial combat operations began immediately. VMFA-334 relocated to Chu Lai early 1969.

Remained in Vietnam until September 1969 when they were relocated to Iwakuni, Japan.

From there they flew air support over the US Navy intelligence ship the USS Pueblo which had been attacked and captured by North Korea.

In March 1971 they returned to MCAS El Toro and were deactivated on December 30, 1971
