CONFEDERATE Mill Springs KY 1862 Civil War VA NewspaperImage047(Note: additional images are located below the description)Shown is an original & historic old newspaper, offered to enhance your collectible interest: DAILY RICHMOND EXAMINER, Virginia, Feb. 6, 1862

* Battle of Mill Springs KY Kentucky
* In a Confederate title from rebel capital

A nice newspaper from the capital of the Confederacy. The front page has a full columns of Acts from the Confederate Congress, plus various reports from Europe concerning the Civil War including: "An English Estimate of the Federal 'Victories' " "A Splendid Tribute to President Davis" 'Recognition of the Southern Confederacy". Also on the ftpg: "The Battle In Kentucky" "Full Account of the Battle" with many subheads (see), concerning the Battle of Mill Springs. This account has considerable detail with the article taking a full column & carries over to take one-third of a column on page 2.

Page 2 has a lengthy editorial which goes to great lengths to castigate William Seward (see). The editor then gives thought to concerns for the re-enlistment of Confederate troops by beginning: "The Northern journals count on the certain annihilation of our armies after our twelve months' regiments are disbanded..." Also on the inside pages are: "The Latest Northern News--Movements & Spirit of the War" "Recognition of the Southern Confederacy" "Federal Mutineers" "Completion of the Covington and Ohio Railroad" 'The Lecture Humbug" "Special Message of President Davis--The Railroad Interest" "Legislature Of Virginia" and even more. The back page is mostly taken up with a very lengthy list of Acts from the Confederate Congress.

Four pages, never bound nor trimmed, just a bit of foxing or light dirtiness, generally very nice condition.
