OUR COUNTRY IN WAR by Murat Halstead. 1898 Detailed info and well Illustrated

712 pages, 9 x 6 1/4 inches x 1 1/2 inches thick.  Highly detailed and well illustrated in both black and white and color drawings and some b/w photographs.  Photos show exterior and two examples of interior illustrations of exact book being offered.

Our Country in War and Relations with all Nations.
A History of War Times and American Heroes on Land and Sea.
by Murat Halstead, official historian to the war department.
Containing a vivid description of our present foreign complications.

My copy is in excellent condition considering it is 114 years old.  All pages are present, none have rips or tears, just one or two have dog ears.  Although somewhat yellowed with age the book is very clean inside throughout.  Binding and spine are firm and sound, leaves are all firmly bound.  Illustrations are bright, clear and clean.  Shelf wear on cover's corners and edges.

Subjects and chapters range from the French as our allies in the Revolution, territorial expansion and Indian wars, the Spanish in Florida, War with Mexico, acquisition of Alaska and colony of Hawaii, relations and skirmishes with Mexico, Cuba, Philippines, Puerto Rico and much more.
