VERY RARE CIVIL WAR COMPANY DESCRIPTIVE BOOK 1864

Here is an extremely rare "Company Descriptive Book" from the Civil War, 1864. These rosters are rarely found in private hands, but usually in archives or museum collections. Handsome brushed leather covers are in wonderful condition for a 150 year old ledger. Contains about 72 pages with no entries. First 5 or 6 pages have been removed and are probably in an archive somewhere. Left side of pages are labeled "Descriptive Roll of Company", with columns for Names, Age, Height, Complexion, Eyes, Hair, and Where Born, Town or County and State. Right side is labeled "Regiment, U.S" with columns for Enlistment, When, Where, By Whom, Term and a column for Remarks. Pages are in beautiful condition. An extremely rare antiquarian book that you may never see another for sale. Sold with no reserve.
