World War II - Paris France 7x9 Photographs

World War II - Paris France 7x9 Photographs

3 photographs. Each photograph is actually 7 1/16 x 9 7/16. Brought back from the war by my dad. Of 1944.

There is writing and an official press stamp on the back of each photograph. The writing nor stamp does not press through to the front of any of the three photographs.

Photograph 1, written on back: “Everyone helped in erecting street barricades, to assist in liberation of Paris.”

Photograph 2, written on back: “De Gaulle, while making an address, is fired upon by snipers, and spectators scatter.”

Photograph 3, written on back: “French civilian snipers cover a bridge from even doros of the Trocadero (I think), the Eiffel Tower in the background.”

Although written in English, in photograph 3, the word “doros” is the best that I can interpret.

Notice the statues in the windows in photograph 2.
